Team News: BTK Arrow Rotax Pan American Report – New Castle Motorsports Park

BTK Arrow stole the show in the Rotax Senior classes at the recent Rotax Pan American Championship race at New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. It was a great weekend for the team that padded Arrow’s lead in the EKN Constructor’s Championship standings.

Arrow Karts and BTK Engines took three of the top four podium spots on both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Victor Pedrosa finished second, with teammates Eric Jones and Sam Beasley finishing on his tail in third and fourth. Beasley won the prefinal, but a technical hiccup forced him to start at the tail of the final. It was an amazing drive, but was a big disappointment for the Arrow driver, as it would most certainly have been a victory.

Beasley’s determination was definitely seen in Sunday’s final as Beasley grabbed the victory by 1.9 seconds over teammate and BTK Manager Eric Jones. Even more impressive was Beasley’s 4.3 second margin over the third place finisher. Pedrosa would have another great drive to gain the fourth spot and make it a BTK Arrow 1, 2, 4 finish.

Texas driver Robby Mott made his Arrow debut in the Rotax DD2 Masters class. And a successful one it was, as Mott took the victory in Saturday’s final and claimed the runner up spot on Sunday.

Masters drivers Scott Falcone and Ron Rossetti showed speed all weekend. Falcone finished with a third and fourth place finish, and Rossetti garnered a fourth and fifth place result.

Several other Arrow drivers grabbed top tens on the weekend. Luca Forgeois has become a force in the Senior ranks, adding two more nationals top ten finishes to his total. Mitch Carey, last year’s DD2 pole winner at the Rotax Grand Nationals, finished sixth in DD2 and young gun Ryan Bjerke took two top ten finishes in the ultra competitive Mini Max class.

Arrow Takes Four in South Bend
The second round of the George Kugler WKA Manufacturer's Cup took place this past weekend at Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, Indiana. The event boasted over 450 entries, proving that WKA racing is where the competition is at this year. A large number of Arrow drivers put in solid performances at South Bend, combining for four victories and 17 podium finishes.

Senior rookie Dakota Pesek (Slattery Karting) started off Saturday strong with a clean sweep of Yamaha Supercan Lite in his first Senior race, a sure sign that he will be a contender for the championship. Pesek surprised the field by taking the pole in qualifying, and then proved that he was for real by taking convincing wins in the prefinal and final. Fellow Arrow drivers Cody Robinson (Comet Kart Sales) and Corey Reeves took fourth and fifth respectively, to give Arrow three of the five podium positions. All three of these drivers were aboard the new X130 Yamaha Senior chassis.

Kevin Nelson, in his second race flying the Arrow banner, continued his winning ways by taking the victory in Yamaha Masters, and overtook the points lead in the process. Nelson also scored a victory with Arrow at Daytona in his debut with the X130. In addition, he finished the day fourth in Yamaha Pipe to grab another podium spot.

Cody Robinson, returning to the seat for the first time since the New Castle Manufacturer's Cup race last season, showed that he wasn't a bit rusty by taking the most impressive win of the weekend in Yamaha SuperCan Heavy. After starting the prefinal in last place due to being light in qualifying, Robinson simply put on a driving clinic while moving through the field in the final. Victory looked out of reach, but Robinson made a pass for position in each of the last five laps to take an unthinkable win. Robinson also finished second in his Yamaha Pipe debut.

2009 WKA Triple Crown winner Sam Beasley (Beasley Motorsports) managed to add another national win to his resume by taking a dominating victory in the Yamaha Jr. Lite class. Beasley also collected four poles and a third place finish in Komet PP Jr. Lite, and a fourth place finish in Komet PP Jr. Heavy.

Luca Forgeois made his senior debut in the Rotax class and put in his best performance to date by taking second in the final. Forgeois put in consistent times while being pressured from behind the whole final, but he never cracked, pacing just one-tenth off the winner’s fastest time.

John Powers nearly grabbed the victory in Yamaha Jr. Sportsman Lite, but would end up third in the final results column. Tyler Moneypenney lost his third place finish in the Cadet Final 2 class after his recoil cord broke starting the final. Powers and Moneypenney certainly showed the potential in their driving ability and the Arrow brand by challenging for wins all weekend. BTK Arrow is certainly excited about the future in these classes after the solid performances put in by these two young drivers.

Corey Reeves, Jacob Sekey and Adam Crepin also grabbed podium finishes for Arrow. Olivia Beam continues to impress, as she grabbed fifth place in both Komet PP Jr. Lite and Yamaha Jr. Heavy. BTK Arrow would like to thank all Arrow racers for their hard work and continued support.

Arrow remains second in the Manufacturer’s Cup standings, only four victories behind. With three events on the National schedule, it will certainly be an exciting race to the finish.

Team Arrow/BTK racers Kenneth Hildebrand
and IndyCar Series/Indy 500 Champion Dan Wheldon won first and second, respectively, in Rotax Senior on day one of the FWT Rotax weekend.
BTK/Arrow Continues Streak – FWT Orlando Formula/Rotax Report

Fresh off a dominating performance in the Rotax and TAG classes at Daytona, the BTK Motorsports Team was looking to continue their streak heading into the Florida Winter Tour. And that they did.

The highlight race of the first two rounds in Orlando was most certainly the epic duel in Rotax Senior by Arrow/BTK racers Kenneth Hildebrand and IndyCar Series/Indy 500 Champion Dan Wheldon during the Rotax weekend. These teammates traded the lead throughout the race and ran each other hard, yet clean, with Hildebrand edging Wheldon by .096 seconds at the line. To make the victory even more impressive, the duo finished nearly five seconds clear of third place—reigning series champion Fabio Orsolon. The second day wouldn’t be as kind to Wheldon, as he was taken out on the start of the prefinal, but came from last in the final to finish 10th, matching the leader’s pace. Hildebrand would recover from a tough start in the final to finish second and grab the overall point’s lead, with Wheldon sitting third.
Arrow hotshoe Pato O’Ward had a great start to his pursuit of the TAG Cadet and Mini Max championships by finishing third & fifth in TAG, and third & fourth in Mini Max. O’Ward also had a pole and showed great pace throughout both weekends. O’Ward currently sits third in both championships.

Mario Garcia had a good showing in Rotax Masters with solid finishes of fifth and sixth.

During the Formula race weekend in Pro Rotax, Kenneth Hildebrand dominated the final by nearly a 10-second margin of victory, with teammates Victor Pedrosa and Sam Beasley finishing second and third respectively, to make it an all Arrow X1/BTK Rotax podium. Hildebrand would go on to finish second on day two by a mere .137 seconds, with Beasley capturing the fifth spot. Hildebrand’s results would award him the points lead in Pro Rotax.

Beasley certainly stole the show in Leopard Senior by grabbing his first major win in the Senior ranks. Pedrosa finished second on the first day. On day two, Pedrosa took the pole position by nearly half a second over David Jurca. Unfortunately, Pedrosa was not allowed to compete in the final by the track owner Andre Martins after an altercation instigated by a Tony Kart driver. Look for Pedrosa to rebound strongly at the first CKI event in Homestead.

RaceSport/Arrow drivers Butch Landers and Jim Machul were the class of the field in Stock Honda with Landers taking the victory on Saturday, with Machul taking top honors on Sunday to complete a great weekend for these two drivers. Machul carries the points lead into Moroso.

Beasley Motorsports/Arrow driver Matthew Tifft had a great weekend in Iame Junior with a second place finish in his FWT debut. BTK/Arrow pilot Luca Forgeois drove from last place in Iame Junior to Santino Ferrucci’s bumper in the rain, only to lose his neck collar in the closing laps in a “what could have been” performance. Forgeois and Tifft continue to impress as they gain more seat time.

BTK Motorsports would like to congratulate all of the winners at the first FWT round in Orlando and say thank you for all of their hard work and dedication to the team.

Beasley Motorsports Driver Same Beasley with his Triple Crown trophy.
BTK/Arrow WKA Daytona Review

The opening round of the 2010 WKA Manufacturer’s Cup provided an excellent start to the season for BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts. Beasley Motorsports Driver, Sam Beasley was awarded a Triple Crown at Monday Night’s Awards Banquet. Sam finished first in Yamaha Junior Lite, Yamaha Junior Heavy, HPV Junior Lite and finished second in HPV Heavy. Sam joins a very elite group of racers to ever accomplish this achievement. Arrow Racing Karts is very proud of Sam and his accomplishments and would like to also recognize Beasley Motorsports and Sam’s tuner, Gary Lawson for their outstanding year.

As the annual WKA Daytona KartWeek began, the low grip track conditions proved to be tricky. However, Arrow drivers Dan Wheldon, Kenneth Hildebrand, Kevin Nelson and Jacob Sekey adapted to the track conditions to take one victory each.

Sekey(Arrow/Sonic) started off Saturday by grabbing the pole position in the TAG class, with fellow Arrow driver Kenneth Hildebrand qualifying third in his Arrow/BTK Rotax combination. Sekey would go on to win the final with Hildebrand ending his day in fourth. Billy Lewis and Victor Pedrosa finished fifth and eighth, respectively, in their X1 CIK chassis. Sekey’s great drive came in a field of over 50 karts with many nationals champions in the field.

Kevin Nelson made his debut with BTK Motorsports and Arrow Karts at Daytona, and a successful debut it was. Nelson was victorious in the Yamaha Pipe class, and nearly took the Yamaha Masters victory, but was run wide on the last lap—ending up second. Earl Douthright grabbed his first WKA podium by finishing fourth to Nelson in the pipe class. Nelson also had some speed in the Yamaha Supercan Heavy class, but a pileup on the start relegated to the back of the field.

Nelson’s Switch teammate Cory Reeves had some strong runs, finishing fourth in Yamaha Supercan Heavy and third in Komet Piston Port Heavy. Comet Kart Sales driver Mark Dismore, Jr. finished the day fifth in Yamaha Supercan Heavy.

In the Rotax class, Kenneth Hildebrand blistered the field in all on track sessions. His margin of victory in the final over NASCAR star Jamie McMurray was nearly four seconds. Victor Pedrosa had a strong showing as well, pacing lap times a tenth off the leader to finish third from his eighth place starting position.

IndyCar superstar Dan Wheldon returned to his karting roots once again, and showed he is as talented as anyone in a kart as well as an IndyCar. Wheldon qualified second in the TAG Heavy class with his X1 CIK/Comet Leopard package. He would go on to pass fellow Arrow driver Jacob Sekey for the prefinal win, and would finish it off by winning the final by over a second. Sekey had another impressive drive to grab the second spot. Billy Lewis nabbed another podium finish, this time fourth, with his X1/Comet Leopard package.

Sam Beasley had a solid start to his season with four top four finishes. Watch out for Beasley this season as he makes his quest to go four for four in the Junior classes again.

Arrow drivers Jon Kotyk, Jack Manley, Tyler Moneypenny, Dominique VanWieringen, Luca Forgeious, Olivia Beam & John Powers had all great runs to grab top ten finishing positions.

On the Road Racing Circuit, Arrow Racer Jeff Ford brought home two victories in both Open Sprint Races.

BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts would like to thank all Arrow drivers for their hard work and wish them all the best of luck in the 2010 racing season.

WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series Grand Nationals – Lowe’s Motor Speedway

November 16, 2009 – The North Carolina sun shined brightly on many young Arrow drivers at the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Grand Nationals at Lowe’s Motor Speedway over the weekend of November 7-8. Arrow pilots grabbed four wins on the weekend and claimed third place in the Manufacturer’s Cup Championship. More importantly, with the addition of several new drivers to the team, BTK Motorsports has now set the stage for an exciting WKA Manufacturer’s Cup season in 2010.

Gary Lawson (Arrow AX9 4S/Comet Engine) handed an exclamation point to his fellow competitors to begin the day on Saturday by grabbing the pole in Yamaha SuperCan Heavy by a half second! Corey Reeves, in his first Arrow start, qualified outside pole. Lawson would go on to win the prefinal, and narrowly grab the victory in the final, as he was hounded most of the race by Mark Dismore Jr. (Arrow X1-30/Comet Engine) in his new X1-30 chassis. Corey Reeves (Arrow X1-30/Switch Engine) would finish a close third to make it an Arrow trifecta.

Sam Beasley (Arrow XE-28/Comet) started his weekend off right by grabbing the outside pole in HPV Junior Heavy, and also nabbed the second position in the prefinal. The Beasley Motorsports crew dialed in Sam’s XE-28 chassis for the final, and he went on to take the victory by over a second.

Beasley also had a huge day on Sunday. He would go on to win the HPV Junior Lite final after grabbing the pole position and prefinal win. In Yamaha Junior Heavy, Beasley would have to start the final 26th after a mechanical issue in the prefinal. This actually proved to be the most important final of the year for Beasley, as he needed to garner a top five finish to capture the prestigious WKA Triple Crown. An impressive drive for the young Arrow pilot yielded a fourth place finish, just enough for the Triple Crown. An ecstatic Beasley thanked his father Ben, Gary Lawson and the whole Beasley Motorsports team for their continued support of his racing efforts.

Corey Reeves, multiple-time WKA Triple Crown winner, proved he hadn’t lost his touch after taking a nearly one year hiatus from the sport. Reeves merely acquainted himself with his new Arrow karts on Saturday, and went for the kill on Sunday. Just before the midway point of the Yamaha SuperCan Lite final, Reeves chases down the leader and made an overtaking move into turns ten and eleven, only to be knocked off course deep into the field. Mark Dismore Jr. carried the Arrow banner from that point, taking the lead again near the end of the race, but would drop back to finish in the second position. Reeves caught the lead pack near the end of the race and ended up fourth.

After narrowly missing the SuperCan victory, Reeves put in an impressive drive from sixth spot at one point in the race, to capture the HPV Heavy Grand National Championship. Look for Reeves to be the benchmark in the Yamaha and HPV Senior classes in 2010.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to congratulate all of the Arrow pilots on their accomplishments during the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup season finale. Team Arrow USA looks forward to a successful 2010 season beginning at the Daytona KartWeek set in December,

Arrow WKA New Castle Report

The debut of the new Arrow X130 chassis proved to be a smashing success at the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Nationals held at New Castle Motorsports Park this past weekend. It was a highly anticipated event for BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts, as this model has been dominating the Yamaha Heavy class in Australia at recent events.

Cody Robinson and C.J. Lintner campaigned the new X130 in both the Yamaha Supercan Heavy and Light classes. Robinson grabbed the pole in Supercan Heavy by over three tenths of a second. He would go on to win the prefinal by a considerable margin as well. The final would provide a different result as Robinson was knocked off course on the final lap while leading, but would still garner the second position. Lintner moved his way through the field from qualifying to finish fourth in the final.

Supercan Light would prove to be a little kinder to Robinson, as he again captured the pole by a convincing margin. In Sunday’s final, the front pack of five swapped the lead several times, but Robinson’s X130 maintained a torrid pace, and he remained unchallenged in the final laps to grab his first Manufacturer’s Cup win in the senior division. Lintner would bring his Arrow home in the fifth position after running near the lead for most of the race. “I’m really happy to finally get my first National win in seniors. It’s our first race out with the X130, and the results couldn’t have been much better. We would have won both races if we hadn’t got knocked off course on Saturday,” exclaimed an excited Robinson.

In Yamaha Junior Light and Heavy, Sam Beasley showed once again that he and his XE28 are a lethal combination. On Saturday in Light, Beasley simply dominated, winning by over five seconds. This sort of feat is starting to become habit for the Painesville, Ohio driver. For Sunday’s Heavy final, Beasley would have to prove that he had racecraft as well. And that he did, passing Nick Neri on the outside of the final long straight to capture his second win of the weekend. Beasley thanked his Beasley Motorsports crew for their hard work after his wins.

“Cody and Sam did a fantastic job this weekend. The X130 nearly had a sweep in the first weekend of competition, and the XE28 is continuing it’s dominance in the Junior Yamaha classes. We had a lot of other solid results, and BTK/Arrow would like to thank all Arrow drivers for their support of the Arrow product. We are really excited for the Grand Nationals in Charlotte,” stated Eric Jones.

Team News – IKF Grand Nationals Report – Reno

Hosted at the Desert Park Raceway in Reno, Nevada, the 2009 International Karting Federation (IKF) 2-Cycle Sprint Grand Nationals were held July 22-25 and are now officially in the books. Arrow karts were not present in large numbers, but the Arrows that were on hand most certainly left some lasting impressions.

Mike Botelho Jr. of MMS Karting had his Arrow/MMS Engine package up front all weekend. Botelho Jr. started off his bid for a Duffy on day one in the Super Sportsman class by coming from P13 in qualifying to finish second in the final to Brendan Phinny by .101 seconds. Botelho Jr. also posted the fastest race lap in this class. On day two in Senior Sportsman, Botelho Jr. laid down a lap in qualifying to grab the Screaming Eagle by nearly three tenths of a second! The hotshoe would fall just short of the victory in the final though, finishing second to Clayton Snow by a mere .361 seconds.

Day three would see Botelho put together a dominating performance, but not without some drama. Engine woes caused the MMS pilot to start the final in the Super Sportsman Heavy class from the tail of the field, which set an exciting stage. From P19, Botelho Jr. methodically picked off driver after driver, garnering P3 by the white flag lap, and then won a drag race to the finish off of the last corner to finally win a Duffy after two second place finishes. It was an impressive victory aboard his Arrow kart over names like Kelley, Phinny, Snow, and Hogg. He also set the fastest lap in the final by two tenths of a second. Botelho Jr. added a second place qualifying effort and fourth place finish in the Iame Cup class on the final day of competition.

To cap off an already satisfying weekend, Botelho Jr. was awarded the “Lake Speed Grand National Sprint Award” representing “Achievement of Excellence in Karting.” BTK Motorsports/Arrow USA is very proud of Mike’s performance and would like to thank him for his continued support.

“Mike and Doug at MMS did a great job at the IKF Grands. Arrow and BTK are continuing to push further west and these guys showed what the product is capable of. It will be nice to see more Arrows out there in the near future,” stated Eric Jones of BTK.

TEAM ARROW USA / BTK MOTORSPORTS - X1 REPORT

Decatur, Alabama – (June 18, 2009) – The X1 continues to bring positive results to the table during the 2009 race season. Over the past weekend, the X1 helped sweep some big club wins from coast to coast.

In Barnesville, Georgia, the Georgia Sprint Karting Association (GSKA, www.georgiasprintkarting.net) hosted the Bakers Creek Kart Club (www.bakerscreekkarting.org) for race seven in the Southeastern R-Max Super Series. It was also the Season Finale for the Spring Fever Series for the 4-Cycle Clone diggers. With over 117 combined registered racers as well as racing under the lights on the quarter-mile track, the night race was definitely entertaining.

In Rotax Senior, it was Eric Jones (BTK Motorsports) who dominated the evening. Piloting the new Arrow X1 chassis, Jones qualified on pole and won both the heat race and the final. Jones also set a new track record breaking the previous record by over a half second – 22.161. Arrow X1 pilots, Matt Tilden and Austin Tillery qualified just behind Jones making it 1-2-3 for Arrow. In the heat race, Tilden finished second and A. Tillery in fourth. The feature race would bring unfortunate luck for A. Tillery. In the final lap, Austin was in fourth and closing the gap with Tilden when he had a clutch misfortune in the last turn. Tilden held on to win the P3. In Rotax Masters aboard the Arrow X1 chassis, Mack McCormack (BTK Motorsports) won P2 in both the heat race and the feature.

Also over the weekend, the Los Angeles Kart Club (LAKC) held its race at CalSpeed in Fontana, California. On the three-quarter mile Grande Course, Erik Jackson dominated Rotax Senior aboard his Arrow X1 chassis. Erik qualified on pole and won P1 in both the heat race and the final. In Rotax Masters, Arrow X1 pilot David Busby qualified outside pole and won the heat race. In the final, Busby was pushed to the rear of the field, yet he worked his way back to finish sixth. Furthermore, Arrow X1 pilot Ron Rossetti finished fourth in both the heat and the final in Rotax Masters.

Terrence McCall of BTK Motorsports states, “The X1 has definitely proven itself to be successful and continues to win not only national races, but club level races as well. We look forward to seeing its continued success.”

BTK Motorsports would like to congratulate all of the winners over the past weekend and say thank you for all of their hard work and dedication to the team.

Team Arrow USA/BTK Motorsports – WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series – South Bend Report

Concluding over the weekend at the Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, Indiana, the second round of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series is in the books. Arrow now has five total wins for the ’09 ManCup series. The two day race event unquestionably provided much amusement for the spectators as the field of drivers was stacked with much competition.

A major highlight of the weekend was on Sunday when Sam Beasley (Beasley Motorsports/Arrow) took the checkered flag in Yamaha Junior Heavy aboard his Arrow XE 28 chassis for his first win of the season. Sam along with teammate, Dakota Pesek (Slattery Karting/Arrow) led the twelve-lap Prefinal with a 1-2 win for Arrow. In the Final, the two Arrow pilots would stay up front. Beasley once again scored the winning victory by over a two-second lead. Pesek dropped one position to claim the third podium spot. Also driving the new Arrow XE 28, Olivia Beam (Beasley Motorsports/Arrow) finished seventh. Arrow drivers, James Clark Jr. (BTK Motorsports) and Luca Forgeois (BTK Motorsports) finished tenth and eleventh, respectively. Backing up to Saturday, Pesek and Beasley paired up in the Yamaha Jr Lite Final to win the second and third positions in that order. Once again, Beam showed her consistency with a sixth place finish in the Final along with Kyle Smith (BTK Motorsports/Arrow) rounding out the top ten. In Saturday’s Yamaha Sportsman Heavy, Arrow racer, John Powers (Slattery Karting) finished fourth.

In the HPV Sportsman Final, Scott Rumsey (Slattery Karting/Arrow) and John Powers (Slattery Karting/Arrow) finished eighth and tenth, correspondingly. In the HPV Heavy Final, Beasley with teammate, Beam finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Keeping his momentum on Sunday, Beasley won the third podium position in HPV Junior Lite Final. In addition, Arrow teammate, Jacob Donald (Beasley Motorsports/Arrow) finished ninth.

Another delightful pinnacle of the weekend came when Arrow pilot Breyton Santee (Beasley Motorsports) won the HPV Sportsman Final. This is Breyton’s first national win. In the Cadet Finals, Breyton earned two top ten finishes—fifth on Saturday and ninth on Sunday. Just as well, in Saturday’s Cadet Final, Tyler Moneypnny (Beasley Motorsports/Arrow) finished seventh.

The senior class instigated some very exciting racing over the weekend. On Saturday in the TaG Final, Brandon Jones (BTK Motorsports/Arrow) finished fourth, and CJ Lintner (BTK Motorsports/Arrow) finished sixth. In TaG Masters, Arrow pilot Michael Busse earned the fifth place finish in the Final. In HPV Lite, Wyatt Gooden (Beasley Motorsports/Arrow) rounded out the top ten in the Final. In Yamaha SuperCan Heavy, CJ Lintner consistently stayed up front – winning the third podium position. Following close behind, Cody Robinson picked up the fifth place finish.

Sunday grew to be even more interesting for the senior class. In a stacked TaG field, Lintner aboard the Arrow X1 chassis proved to be competitive again on day two by qualifying on pole. Lintner challenged the pack in both races of the day for the lead. Yet, he consistently held the second place spot in the Prefinal and the Final – winning P2 in both. Cruising in the new X1, Brandon Jones certainly displayed his skills again on Sunday – finishing ninth in the TaG Final.

In HPV Heavy, Wyatt Gooden displayed his impressive talent by winning P2 in the Final. Rounding out the day in Yamaha Masters, Steve Rumsey (Slattery Karting/Arrow) scored a sixth place finish.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to thank all the racers who participated in the event and congratulate them on their performance. BTK is very proud to have such a gifted group of kart drivers representing Team Arrow USA. Team Arrow USA looks forward to the next ManCup event in July at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Team News – Team Arrow USA – Southwest Regional Cup – Round 3 & 4

Decatur, Alabama – (May 21, 2009) – Arrow Racing Karts dominated the Rotax Masters field at the third and fourth round of the Southwest Regional Cup (SWRC) series in Norman, Oklahoma over the past weekend (May 16 and 17). Mexico native, Mario Garcia without fail showed his talent in Rotax Masters. Mario qualified second on Saturday, but first place was DQ‘d for weight so Mario moved up to first place in qualifying. On Saturday in the Prefinal, Mario captured the first place finish. Miraculously, Mario went on to win the Final. On Sunday, Mario finished the Prefinal in second. Yet, Mario managed to battle for the lead – winning P1 in the Final. Mario is currently in first place in the SWRC Rotax point’s series.

Also representing Team Arrow USA was the ’08 Rotax Micro Max Grand Nationals champion Patricio “Pato” O’Ward. In the Rotax Mini-Max field, Pato consistently displayed his driver skills during the two-day event. In Saturday’s Final, Pato finished fourth, and he finished eighth on Sunday’s Final.

Arrow USA and BTK Motorsports would like to congratulate all who contributed to the impressive results during the SWRC event at the Oklahoma Motorsports Park. For more information about Arrow Racing Karts please visit or contact your nearest Arrow dealer.

David Sera aboard the Arrow X1 (Courtesy: Go Racing)
Team News – Arrow/BTK Motorsports – FWT CIK Ocala

BTK Motorsports wrapped up a successful 2009 Florida Winter Tour campaign this past weekend in Ocala, Florida.

Back again for the last round, Australian National Champion, David Sera continued his dominance on the new Arrow X1 chassis in the TAG Senior class. Sera has been on a tear since December, winning both TAG 1 & 2 at the WKA Daytona Kart Week, and he also provided convincing victories in Rotax Senior at Homestead and Ocala. Sera’s week definitely got off to a slow start as mechanical woes with his rented TAG engine package forced the BTK crew to make a daring gamble. Thus, the team was pressed to go with the under-horsepowered Leopard engine. As a result, Sera was forced to break-in his engine during Saturday’s qualifying session. Yet, he still managed to gain a starting position outside the front row. On the start of the prefinal, David got the jump on the start and checked out immediately. However, since there was not sufficient break-in time, the engine seized a few laps later. This would set the stage for an interesting final. Starting last in P15, Sera methodically picked off drivers one by one, and overtook P1 just after the halfway point in the race. The BTK team driver then maintained his lead and cruised to victory against all odds. “The X1 was flawless just as it was last weekend, which helped tremendously in overtaking the field from the tail. I’d like to give my BTK team credit for their hard work and not giving up, and Barry Lewis from Billet Performance for all of his help,” stated an elated Sera.

Day two for TAG Senior would prove to be a bit less eventful for Sera. David qualified on pole, won the prefinal and dominated the final with a 4.9 second victory. Undeniably, Sera’s 40-hour voyage to the states paid off in the end. “Deadly” David Sera is no doubt a force to be reckoned with in karting.
CJ Cronis, Connor Thomas and Luca Forgeois all had some great moments in TAG Junior. Cronis’ weekend was highlighted by a second place qualifying effort in Round 6 along with two eighth place finishes in the finals. Cronis finished the FWT seventh in the point standings after being taken off track on Sunday. Proving to be a consistent top ten runner, Thomas had his first top ten finish in a national event on Saturday. Forgeois fought around the tenth position all weekend as he continued to step up his pace while completing his first full year of karting.

“We are very pleased with our FWT results this season, and couldn’t be happier with debut of the new X1 chassis. It has lived up to the hype surrounding it. We can’t wait for the guys at the club level to begin racing it and to start gaining results,” commented Eric Jones of BTK Motorsports.

BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts are very happy with Team Arrow’s results at the close of this year’s FWT. BTK would like to thank all of the devoted racers that participated in the event. In addition, BTK would like to recognize all of the pit-crew who helped out under the tent and made for a smooth weekend of racing.

BTK would like to say a big thank you to Ron Jones for all his hard work and dedication to team over the entire FWT. Also, BTK would like to thank you to Barry Lewis with Billet Performance Karting whose help with David’s racing was invaluable.

Team Arrow USA will be present at WKA ManCup, STARS East, SuperNats, RIGP and Rotax Nationals. If you would like to become a member of Team Arrow USA, please call 1.877.937.2232.

Team News – Arrow/BTK Motorsports –
FWT Rotax Ocala

The final Rotax round of the 2009 Florida Winter Tour is in the books. With over 160 entries, the competition was definitely stacked as some of the finest pilots battled for the title.

Australian national champion, David Sera was certainly the highlight of the weekend. David took the thirty hour long journey from the outback to compete one last time in the ’09 FWT. On Saturday, David missed pole by three one-thousandths of a second. However, that would not stop David. He took over the lead in the pre-final, and he cruised to victory lane without trouble aboard his Arrow X1. Sera would also take the lead early on in the final—sailing to the checkered by over a four-second lead. On Sunday, Sera took pole and won the pre-final by over a five-second lead. In the final, David was leading with over a five-second advantage when a mechanical issue caused him to DNF. Sera will have another chance to go to the podium next weekend in TaG Senior.

Arrow Racing Karts also did well in Rotax Masters. Arrow pilot, Mario Garcia Cantu did an outstanding job on Sunday as he won P3 in the final. Furthermore, Arrow kart racers, Matt Tilden and Keith Karr finished ninth and tenth, respectively, in Sunday’s final.

Hat’s off to Canadian driver, Jeffrey Petriello (Arrow/SRA Karting). Petriello once again dominated the DD2 field – winning the pre-final and the final on both Saturday and Sunday.

The 2008 Rotax Micro Max National Champion, Pato O’Ward, was consistent all weekend. Pato finished fifth on Saturday’s pre-final and fifth in the final. Then, on Sunday, Pato won P3 in the pre-final and finished fifth in the final. Pato demonstrated his talent and skills throughout the entire 2009 FWT series landing him a third place finish in the championship.

Team News – Arrow Karts /BTK Motorsports – FWT Homestead 2 Report

Rounds three & four of the Florida Winter Tour Rotax Challenge in Homestead, Florida this past Valentine’s weekend proved to be another huge success for Team Arrow USA. The team worked well together sharing data to get all of the team drivers up to speed very quickly on a newly paved Homestead track. The track also ran in the clockwise direction for the first time in FWT history which added a new twist for the drivers.

On Saturday, Arrow Kart pilots consistently demonstrated their perseverance and talent. Nine year-old Patricio “Pato” O'Ward was on top of his game as usual in the Micro Max class. Pato came from ninth in the Final, carefully picking off karts one by one, and then, made up over a two second margin on the leader. Pato caught the leader in the final laps, made a veteran move with only three corners remaining and took his Arrow Cadet chassis to the checkered flag in first! Day two would prove to be kind to Pato as well, as he garnered the pole in Sunday's qualifying session establishing a new track record of 53.708 seconds in Micro Max. Pato nearly pulled off the victory again on the last lap of Prefinal as he would finish second. Pato would ultimately fall .109 of a second short, capping a great weekend with a second place finish in the Final. On the podium, Pato thanked his mechanic and tuner, Charlie Swayne, his father and BTK/Arrow for all of their continued support.

In the capped Masters class of 34 pre-registered participants, Arrow Karts were well-represented in the paddock. New Team Arrow USA member Jim Busby, from California was a force to be reckoned with all weekend in the Masters class. It was Jim's first weekend on the new X1 chassis, and he almost started it off with a win, finishing second to stand out Colin Lynn by a few lengths on Saturday’s Final. Mexican driver, Mario Garcia Cantu had a great weekend finishing sixth on Saturday’s Final and amazingly won the second podium in Sunday’s Final. New team driver, Matt Tilden from Georgia put it all together Sunday in Masters. Charging from the tail of the field in the thirty-second starting spot, Tilden was able to capture an impressive fifth place finish in his Team Arrow USA debut.  Additionally, Mario and Tilden were both on the new X1 CIK chassis. Fellow Masters driver, Keith Karr, had some hard luck running solidly in the top five in both Saturday and Sunday finals, yet as luck would have it he would get taken off course. Watch for Karr and Tilden to be strong at the final rounds in Ocala.

Traveling from Salt Lake City, Michael Self (BTK Motorsports) had a weekend that "could have been" in the Rotax Senior class. Self's weekend started by qualifying fifth in a stellar field of international Rotax competitors. Self was patient to begin the Final on Saturday and gradually began hunting down the second and third place drivers. Also in the Senior Final, starting from the twenty-eighth position, Christophe Boisclair (SRA Karting Canada) managed to battle to the front of the pack moving up 21 spots to finish seventh on Saturday. Boisclair unfailingly returned to the forefront in Senior on Sunday. Boisclair finished eighth in the Pre-Final and won the third podium in the Final.

All the way from Canada, Arrow racer, Jeffrey Petriello (SRA Karting Canada) put on a very impressive showing – winning both the Pre-Final and Final in the highly competitive DD2 class on both Saturday and Sunday.

BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts are very pleased with the results of the third and fourth round of the 2009 FWT Rotax weekend. Furthermore, Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to thank all the racers who took part in the event and would like to congratulate them on their performance. BTK along with Team Arrow USA will be present at the forthcoming CIK weekend of the FWT. Moreover, BTK looks forward to the next challenging FWT Rotax Race at Ocala in March. Team Arrow USA will be present at all FWT events (both Rotax and TaG weekends), WKA ManCup, STARS East, SuperNats, RIGP, Rotax Nationals and many more. If you would like to be apart of the team, please call BTK at 1.877.937.2232.

Team News – Arrow Karts/BTK Motorsports – ProKart Challenge South

The 2009 ProKart Challenge South season opener took place January 24 at the glorious CalSpeed Karting Center in Fontana, California. Arrow Karts kicked off the weekend with spectacular drives in the highly competitive S3 Light class. The trio of Arrow drivers consisting of Bobby Legate, Patrick Cushenberry and Clinton Schoombee ran up front throughout the day on the .75 Nuovo course. All members of Team Select (Select Shifter)—Legate, Cushenberry and Schoombee finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in the main. Furthermore, Arrow racer, Willy Musgrave (Two Wild Karting) crossed the checkered line in the seventh position in S3 Light. Even more, Schoombee posted the fasted lap time in the main. These Arrow pilots have lots of talent. Arrow USA is very proud of the results at Calspeed and continues to look for more exciting results at the next round of the PKCS at Willow Springs.

Edward “Macho” Fortier aboard his Arrow X1

Team News – Arrow/BTK Motorsports – Florida Winter Tour TaG Report

The Formula Kart weekend of the 2009 Florida Winter Tour at Homestead is in the books. After a very successful Rotax event just the weekend before, Team Arrow USA continued to shine.

Under the tent in TaG Senior, hotshoe Edward Joshua “Macho” Fortier of Puerto Rico made a loud noise over the weekend aboard his new X1 chassis. Fortier was extremely fast from the outset. On Saturday, Fortier won the Prefinal and finished P3 in the Final. However, it was the successful demonstration of skills on Sunday that forced everyone in the audience to take notice. After qualifying third, Macho would methodically dispose of the remaining TaG Senior field to record a resounding victory in the Prefinal aboard his new X1. Then, Fortier would continue his domination winning P1 in the Final—arguably the day’s main event.

CJ Cronis was a clear picture of consistency in TaG Junior, narrowly missing out on a podium finish on Saturday. After qualifying third, Cronis battled hard throughout the entire race to ultimately finish fourth in the Prefinal. Cronis sustained his position up front to finish sixth in the Final. Cronis was set out to go one better and earn a well deserved podium place, yet after finishing fifth in the Prefinal on Sunday, the young Arrow driver recorded an unfortunate DNS in the Final robbing him of his chance. It was a disappointing finish to an otherwise good weekend for Cronis,.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to thank all the racers who participated in the event and congratulate them on their performance. BTK looks forward to the next challenging FWT Race at Homestead in February. Team Arrow USA will be present at all FWT events (both Rotax and TaG weekends), WKA Manufacturer’s Cup, STARS East, SuperNats, RIGP and Rotax Nationals. If you would like to be apart of the team, please call BTK at 1.877.937.2232.

Team News – Arrow Karts /BTK Motorsports – FWT Homestead Rotax Weekend

The eleventh annual Florida Winter Tour (FWT) Rotax Max Challenge opening round was another success in sunny Homestead, Florida. The action-packed event could definitely be classified as “Serious Fun” once again. The much anticipated weekend was beyond doubt very thrilling for all in attendance as well as for those watching online via the new live timing and scoring. The FWT series just keeps improving and growing. With approximately 220 entrants in all six classes, the event turned into one of the best yet for the FWT.

Aboard the new Arrow X1 chassis, David Sera added another win to his impressive resume. As official practice started on Friday, Sera went to the front of the pack in both practice sessions, managing to obtain the fastest lap time – 48.245. On Friday, Sera qualified on pole. In the Prefinal, Sera battled for the lead in the opening laps. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, Sera spun out moving him to the back of the field. However, starting in the 22nd position in the Final due to the earlier mishap, Sera proved his talent by cruising back to the top ten to finish sixth.

On Sunday, Sera started off P2 in the Pre-Final after qualifying 0.003 of a second behind Brazilian polesitter Victor Pedrosa. It was the Arrow X1 of Sera that set the fastest lap time on his way to a remarkable Prefinal win. Starting from pole in the Final, Sera was determined to avoid the chaos he encountered the day before. The Arrow driver immediately pulled away from the field to command a clear lead and recorded another amazing win with his Arrow X1 finishing over four seconds ahead of the next closest kart.

Christophe Boisclair (Arrow/SRA Karting) completed a busy day of racing – competing in both Senior and DD2 classes. The Canadian Arrow driver’s hard work paid off earning him P3 in Sunday’s DD2 Final. Furthermore, young Arrow driver Patricio O’Ward started his 2009 racing season in fine form with a very consistent performance at the opening round of Homestead. O’Ward was one of the more consistent drivers of the event finishing in the top five of the Micro Max Final for both races on Saturday, highlighted by a strong fourth finish in Sunday’s Prefinal and Final.

BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts are very happy with the results in the opening round of the 2009 FWT. “We are especially proud to have Australian National Champion David Sera join our group on behalf of Arrow Karts for this event. Also, BTK would like to thank Arrow Karts Research and Development Leader Bart Price for his invaluable contribution and knowledge to Team Arrow USA over the past four weeks,” states Terrence McCall. Furthermore, Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to thank all the racers who participated in the event and congratulate them on their performance. BTK looks forward to the next challenging FWT Rotax Race at Homestead in February. Team Arrow USA will be present at all FWT events (both Rotax and TaG weekends), WKA ManCup, STARS East, SuperNats, RIGP and Rotax Nationals. If you would like to be apart of the team, please call BTK at 1.877.937.2232.

Race Report – Arrow/BTK Motorsports – WKA Daytona KartWeek -
Manufacturer’s Cup Series

Team Arrow USA participated in the first annual WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series event – Daytona KartWeek on December 29 and 30. The Arrow pilots along with their entourage traveled from all over the world – including Australian racer, David Sera, to race at this competitive event. Arrow Karts took home three wins during KartWeek held at the Daytona International Speedway – Sprint Track.

David Sera (Arrow/BTK Motorsports) proved to be a force to be reckoned with in TaG Senior. After traveling over 40 hours including stops at four different airports and an outrageous cab ride from Orlando to Daytona, the 20-year-old Australian champ dominated the first round of TaG. With only ten laps of practice on a course he had never driven before, polesitter Sera sealed the deal by winning both the Prefinal and Final on Monday aboard the new Arrow X1 chassis powered by the Rotax Senior motor. After a little rest, Sera continued to prove his impressive skills by earning his second pole position and winning both the Prefinal and Final on Tuesday.

Team Arrow USA was well represented in the field. On Monday, a total of nine classes competed together on the half-mile sprint track. In the Yamaha SuperCan Heavy Prefinal, Mark Dismore Jr. (Arrow/Comet Karts) finished third, and C.J. Lintner (Arrow/Comet Karts) rounded out the top five. In the SuperCan Heavy Final, Lintner sustained his presence in the front of the field by winning the second podium. In HPV Heavy, Sam Beasley (Arrow/Beasley Motorsports) finished fourth in the Prefinal. Beasley, one of the fastest guys on the track, also finished second in the Yamaha Jr. Lite Prefinal and second in the Final.

The highlight of the occasion came on Tuesday in the Yamaha Jr. Heavy Dakota Pesek (Arrow/Slattery Karting) was on a roll. In the Prefinal, Pesek droved to the front capturing the fifth spot. Thereafter, in the Final, there was much shuffling going on at the top of the field. Determined, Pesek put on an enthusiastic show by pushing to the lead—winning the Final. In HPV Jr. Lite, Sam Beasley finished fifth in the Prefinal and fourth in the Final. In HPV Heavy, Wyatt Gooden (Arrow/Beasley Motorsports) finished third in the Prefinal and claimed the second podium in the Final. CJ Lintner finished second in Yamaha SuperCan Lite.

BTK would like to thank all of the dedicated racers who worked very hard at Daytona and for the voyage it took getting there. Also, BTK would like to recognize all of the pit-crew who helped out under the tent and made for a few smooth days of racing. Team Arrow USA will be present at the next Manufacturer’s event held at Michiana Raceway Park in South Bend, IN on May 1-3. Team News: Arrow Racing Karts/BTK Motorsports – C.J. Lintner

BTK Motorsports and Arrow Racing Karts are proud to announce that C.J. Lintner, 2008 WKA Manufacturer’s Cup National Champion, will continue to campaign Arrow Racing Karts in 2009. Just recently, Lintner visited the BTK facility and got his first laps in the new Arrow X1 CIK chassis. Upon completion of some very successful testing, Lintner is very optimistic for the upcoming season.

“I could tell that the new kart had the feel that I was looking for in the first couple of laps. The chassis had tremendous speed on corner exit and was extremely consistent. We picked up speed every session, and I feel that the Bakers Creek race track gave us a good comparison to the Daytona track. I’d like to thank BTK for this opportunity, and I hope to win many races and championships for them in 2009,” stated an excited Lintner.

A native of Indianapolis, C.J. is a junior in high school, and has been racing under the leadership of Comet Karts for the past six years.

Eric Jones, the newly appointed GM of BTK Motorsports, along with Team Arrow USA will be assisting Lintner at all WKA Manufacturer’s Cup and Stars of Karting Eastern Series events. Jones had the following to say about Lintner, “C.J. is an extremely quick driver and gave us excellent feedback in his testing of the new Arrow X1 CIK chassis. The exciting thing for BTK is that C.J. has won many major races, and yet at 16 years old, he is still developing as a driver. If C.J. keeps up his high level of focus, he definitely has the potential to climb up the motorsports ladder in a short amount of time. Everyone here at BTK is determined to help C.J., and his father Craig, reach their goals in karting and beyond.”

Look for more information to be released in following weeks on the new Team Arrow USA factory race team. Arrow/BTK Motorsports – Introducing the
All New X1 CIK

After long hours of research and testing, the 2009 Arrow X1 CIK has arrived. From the new graphics that are sure to stand out from the crowd to the clever design of small, yet sometimes forgotten items such as the new brake hub, every component and process has been carefully analyzed in an effort to improve the new chassis.

So, for those who were thinking the X1 may be an evolution of our existing CIK kart, we can assure you the ARROW X1 IS ENTIRELY NEW. Help yourself. Get an Arrow.

Tate Holleran Wins TaG World Championship (Photo: Kurt Freiburg)
Arrow Driver News – Tate Holleran Wins TaG Cadet World Championship

Tate Holleran (Arrow/ Billet Performance Karting), who has already earned several Colorado Sprint Championship titles and a Kid Kart Nationals podium, added to his extensive resume’ with a win and another podium at the TaG World Championships at Grand Junction Motor Speedway on September 20 and 21 in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Over the weekend, Tate raced in both Cadet classes. In the Cadet 2 race, Tate drove his Arrow AX9 Cadet chassis paired with a Comer 60 TaG motor. The combination yielded a pole by over half of a second. The first heat race did not go as anticipated because air shifted into the fuel line. Thus on the first lap, Tate dropped to the back of the field. However, he would fight his way back up to second position in the end. Sunday’s heat race went much better as Tate went wire to wire for the first podium. In the final, Tate moved to the lead position by lap two and remained there to gain his first International title.

At eight years old and an A honor roll student, Tate is a native of Colorado. He not only excels in karting, but he likes to play basketball and football. In fact, he is the starting quarterback on his team—the Wildcats. And if that’s not enough, he won the Presidential Physical Fitness Award last year too.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports are very proud of Tate’s accomplishments and wish him good fortune in the seasons to come. Arrow sweeps all three podium positions at the 2008 RoboPong 200.

Arrow/BTK Motorsports – RoboPong 200 New Castle Report

The fifth annual Mazda RoboPong 200 took place September 28 at New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. With over 84 entries and oceans of spectators, the affair was unquestionably one of the most exciting and challenging RoboPong events since its inception. Only four teams completed the 200 lap endurance race on the lead lap—all of which were Arrow teams. In addition, amazingly, eight of the top ten karts were all Arrow.

On the final lap, the Simpson Race team and the Lewis/CKS Racing team would go head to head for the checkered flag. The battle for the first position came down to the last two corners of the last lap. The Simpson race team crossed the finish line three one-hundredths of a second ahead of the Lewis/CKS team—made up of Billy Lewis and Jeremy Warren on Arrow Kart No. 11. On Arrow Kart No. 421, comprised of Jimmy Simpson and Evan Batt, the Simpson Racing team was granted the transient winners of the race. Yet, due to an on-track post race penalty given to the Simpson team, the CKS/Lewis Racing team was awarded the win of the 2008 RoboPong 200. Coming in third was Team Margison Racing consisting of Nathan O’Rourke and 53-year old, Dick Margison on Arrow Kart No. 53. Finishing fourth in Arrow Kart No. 1 was the Racer of Tomorrow team of Josef Newgarden and Brandon Newey. The second Lewis/CKS Racing team on Arrow Kart No. 85 consisting of drivers Michael Lewis and Michael Busse came in the sixth position. The seventh place finish was awarded to the JD ByRider team – Arrow Kart No. 99 made up of Ron Petersen and Colton Aldridge. The Racer of Tomorrow Team Too on Arrow Kart No. 22 – Conor Daly and Brandon Newey finished in the eighth position. On Arrow Kart No. 73, Mike Melott and Jeff Morone of the M & M Racing team finished in ninth. Arrow Racing Karts along with these talented pilots definitely demonstrated their talent and skills at the highly competitive 2008 RoboPong 200.

Undeniably, the majority of the success of Arrow karts at NCMP would not have been possible without Comet Kart Sales. Mark Dismore, Sr. of Comet Kart Sales has put together one of the most successful karting programs in the country. Comet Kart Sales’ entire team is hard working and truly dedicated to this sport. The knowledge that this group of individuals brings to the table is invaluable. BTK Motorsports is fortunate to have such a great facility such as New Castle Motorsports Park and Comet Kart Sales in the karting community.

Pato O’Ward Wins Rotax Micro Max Championship (Photo: On Track Promotions)
Arrow Racing Karts/BTK Motorsports –
2008 Rotax Grand Nationals Report

The 2008 Rotax Max Challenge USA Grand Nationals held at the USA International Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin took place September 9 – 13. The USAIR facility is definitely one of a kind with its frequent elevation changes and numerous turns which instigated a challenging race week. The wet weather conditions which came into town at the conclusion of the week triggered an eventful affair for the Arrow Race Team. From Utah to Mexico and as far away as Australia, the squadron and their entourage came into town to battle it out for the 2008 R-Max Challenge championship. Under the Arrow tent included Micro Max racer – Pato O’Ward (Monterrey), Junior driver – Zack Busch (Illinois), Senior racers – Kyle Demeter (Illinois), Austin Isaac (Utah) and Quinton Dawn (Texas), Master racers – Keith Karr (Alabama) & Mack McCormack (Alabama) and DD2 racer – Stuart Marsell (Florida).

On his Arrow AX9 Cadet, Patricio “Pato” O’Ward – # 6 dictated all of the Micro Max race events throughout the week. Pato won all three heat races as well as both the pre-final by 31-seconds and the final by 21-seconds. Unquestionably, Pato demonstrated his talent and skills in the second heat. From the paddock, Pato was late lining up on the grid. As a result, on the start of the line-up, he was sent to the back of the pack and still managed to cut through the field to finish on top. Pato also picked up the fastest track time in both the pre-final and the final. Pato undoubtedly proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the Micro Max division.

In DD2, reigning Rotax DD2 National champion, Stuart Marsell qualified on pole and paraded the track in front of the herd in all three of the heat races as well as the pre-final. Yet, in the final – lining up for the green flag, Stuart’s motor failed causing him to DNS. However, even though he did not get to race in the main, he will still take the journey to Italy for the World title in November through his Florida Winter Tour championship.

In the Junior field, Arrow driver Zack Busch climbed through the field from 22nd to 12th in the pre-final. Then, Zack moved on to round out the top ten in the final. This was a fantastic effort for Zack considering that he had only driven a Rotax twice before the event.

In Masters, experienced Arrow racer, Mack McCormack definitely demonstrated his abilities for the crowd at Shawano. Without any experience at the USAIR track as well as limited practice time, McCormack started in the 16th position and moved up ten spots to finish in the sixth position in the pre-final. Then, in the final, McCormack put on an impressive battle for the fourth position while fellow Arrow racer, Maverick Bartlett finished in sixth.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports would like to thank Charlie Brown at RaceFanRadio.com as well as Rob Howden and David Cole from ekartingnews.com for exclusive coverage of the 2008 Rotax Nationals. Charlie, Rob and David made it possible for the out of town family and friends to listen live and catch up to date reports of the events throughout the week. Furthermore, Arrow/BTK would like to thank everyone at USA International Raceway for hosting a fabulous occasion. The courtesy and hospitality that the staff displayed did not go unnoticed and was very much appreciated.

BTK Motorsports would like to especially thank Adam Klunyk, Technical Support straight from the Arrow factory in Australia, for his assistance throughout the week. Adam traveled over 28 hours and without missing a beat, he shared his expertise with each and every Arrow kart racer in Shawano. The knowledge he contributed was invaluable to the team’s success.

Arrow Racing Karts and BTK Motorsports are happy with the results of the 2008 Rotax Max Grand Nationals. Arrow/BTK would like to thank all of the dedicated racers who worked very hard at the Nationals and for the voyage it took to get there. Also, Arrow/BTK would like to recognize all of the pit-crew who helped out under the tent and made for a smooth week of racing.

Some of Arrow’s ProKart Challenge South drivers paired up with local Arrow racers to get one last official event/seat time under their belt before SKUSA SuperNats. With off-camber corners and frequent elevation changes, the track certainly offered some practice to the unfamiliar PKC South racers. The rhythmical track also enhanced the team’s ability to work collectively as they will be doing so in a few weeks.

In S3 Light, Patrick Cushenberry from the PKC South division qualified on pole at 48.060 – unconfirmed, but this time may have set a new track record. In the first heat, Bobby Legate from the Arrow – PKC South division scored a third place finish. In the final, Clinton Schoombee also from the Arrow – PKC South team picked up the fourth place position. Local Arrow racer, Marc Elliot crashed in the beginning of the final, yet, still came back to finish in the fifth position. Altogether, this group of guys will be working for the win at SuperNationals in Las Vegas.

It came with no surprise that the Musgrave’s would take top finishes at Santa Maria as well as 1-2 championship for the season. Willy Musgrave won the first podium position in S4 Light. Willy now has five wins out of the six races in the season. Son, Billy Musgrave finished not far behind in the second place podium position. This pair has dominated all season. Arrow/BTK Motorsports – Rock Island Grand Prix Report

The 2008 Rock Island Grand Prix certainly provided a thrilling weekend of racing action over the holiday weekend. BTK Motorsports Announces New Product—SKF Racing Bearings

Decatur, Ala. – (April 16, 2008) – BTK Motorsports is pleased to announce the roll-out of its new product offering—the concentric locking bearing, manufactured by SKF.

The patented ConCentra Solution allows centering of the shaft and its rotation, in respect to the bearing center. The bearing has a removable snap shield that allows the customer to clean the bearing and re-lubricate after each use. Consequently, the life of the bearing is extended while maintaining high rotation efficiency and reliability. Additionally, the patented profile of the outer ring has been designed to avoid the risk of misalignment to the unit support. The bearing also contains ceramic balls that help maintain low friction while reducing the rotating mass and increasing stiffness.

“We are very excited to offer such a dynamic product,” said Terrence McCall, BTK Motorsports Owner. “As a part of our ongoing commitment to our customers, BTK will continue to review our product portfolio to ensure customers receive the most innovative products in the industry.”

Billet Performance Race Team – Track at Centennial Results

The 2008 Colorado Kart Racing season has officially begun with another dominating performance by the Billet Performance Karting Race Team. Barry Lewis, owner of Billet Performance Karting, assembled a very strong team of Arrow pilots. Race #1 of a 12-race schedule was held on April 5th at the Track at Centennial in Centennial, Colorado. Of the 90 entrants that showed up and registered to race, 15 of the racers were on Arrow chassis’.

While Mother Nature held off with any moisture as forecasted earlier in the week, she did manage to steadily blow a cool breeze all day making for some runny noses around the pits and paddock. Early morning practice sessions were ran on fat jets and heavy tape. As the day progressed, the track surface came in well enough for Tate Holleran in the Jr.1 Honda to set a new track record of 1.01.064—that came off a Danny Sullivan type “spun and won” main event. Thus, Tate won going away from a very talented field of young guns.

As the day wrapped up, all the mains were in the books. Team Billet had a strong day with seven 1st place positions, three 2nd place finishes and a total of 16 top ten finishes! Lauren Holleran picked up a 1st place finish in the Kids Kart class. In the Jr. 1 K80, Austin Schimmel and Brandon Fenning finished 1st and 2nd, respectively. Again, Schimmel, along with Michael Hanks, finished 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the MiniMax race. In the DD2 race, Chris Deshan JP Alonso finished 1st and 2nd, respectively. In the DD2 Masters, Bill Lagoni finished 1st. To sum up the team’s achievements, Cody MacIntyre had a strong 1st place finish in the 125 PRO Shifter class.

All of the team’s hard work, carried out over the long winter months, has paid huge dividends. Along with the Billet Performance Karting shop, DynoJet, and an extensive motor program, developed by Barry Lewis, this team is now positioned to be the individuals to beat this season. While there are still 11 other Arrow pilots waiting in the wings for their first race to occur, the 2008 season promises to be a return of dominance by the Billet Performance Karting Race team. Round #2 will be held at the fast circuit of IMI Motorsports Park in Dacono, Colorado on April 20th.

Barry and Brenda Lewis personally want to thank all of these drivers for being part of their “Winning Team” and would like to welcome anyone else who would like to take their game to a higher level.

Beasley Motorsports Arrow – WKA Jacksonville Results

Beasley Motorsports Arrow (BMA) made its four-cycle karting debut at the WKA Gold Cup National season opener held at the Jacksonville Motorsports Complex this past weekend. Gary Lawson led the team—capturing four poles and four wins! This was truly a great performance by Gary, his Arrow AX9 4S chassis, Turner Engines and the BMA team.

This comes with no surprise as with last year’s last minute entry into the season ending WKA Gold Cup event, Gary Lawson took the BMA Arrow AX9 4S chassis to victory in its madden voyage. After a mid-race red flag, Gary claimed the Sr. Animal Super Heavy victory by over four seconds. Those proven results convinced Gary to jump ship from his long time Margay relationship to a full blown team effort from Beasley Motorsports for 2008. Gary, a renowned kart tuner & very accomplished kart racer, has had multiple two and four-cycle National and Grand National WKA wins, along with multiple Gold Cup national titles. His resume also includes having the most all time wins at the famed Rock Island Grand Prix street races with 12 career wins. Gary's win was so convincing that other outstanding four-cycle drivers decided to join the team—2007 WKA National Champions, A.J. Roderick and John Stefancik, as well as Jason Karr, Justin and Jacob Gearhart, and standout, two-cycle Jr. driver, Sam Beasley.

Competition levels are always very high at all of the WKA Gold Cup National four cycle events. With that being said, it was just as impressive that Gary, along with two other BMA team members, John Stefancik and Jason Karr, had a one-two-three sweep in the Animal Super Heavy class. The trio equipped with Arrow chassis' had an amazing, six-tenths of a second per lap lead on the entire field. BMA team driver, A.J. Roderick, scored a 4th place finish in Animal Lite for the team. Furthermore, back in a four-cycle kart for the first time in several years, Sam Beasley scored three 5th place finishes in Briggs Jr. Lite, Medium and Heavy. Team Principal, Ben Beasley, states, “Beasley Motorsports Arrow is very proud of the team and the WKA season opener results at Jacksonville, and we look to the team’s continued success in 2008.”

Stuart Marsell Conquerors FWT – DD2 Championship

2007 U.S. NATIONAL CHAMPION STUART MARSELL
WINS FWT QUALIFIER TO WORLDS!

Decatur, Ala. – (March 11, 2008) – After several months of hype and anticipation regarding the 2008 FWT DD2 Series, Arrow Racer, Stuart Marsell, won the Sunday Final Race and clenched the FWT Championship. As a result, Marsell secured his spot at the Rotax Worlds for 2008.

On his Arrow AX9 DD2, Stuart seemed unstoppable all weekend, clutching the pole, finishing second on Saturday as well as winning big on Sunday! The BTK Racer with tuner, Shayne Shipley, beat out the best in the world—reining World Champion Pierre-Luc Oulette (Arrow), his team mate – Kyle Herder (Arrow), the Speed brothers (Birel), Joey Collins (CRG), and many other top racers in the country.

Stuart and his older brother, Brandon, came back from a 1-2 finish at Rotax Nationals to continue their winning streak during the FWT.

In Micromax, Arrow Racer, Patricio O’Ward, tuned by Noel “Guero” Davila, continued his dominance on Saturday by capturing pole and winning the Pre-final and Final by 8.5 seconds. On Sunday, several false starts in the Pre-final by the Micro Max pack, lead to Pato fouling a plug and not being able to race. Yet, this fate would make for an exciting Final. Pato set a track record and recorded the fastest lap in the race with a time of 41.938. The closest time all weekend was approximately .6 secs slower. Still, this was not enough to put him on the podium. Nevertheless, Pato did take home a 6th place finish. Keep your eye on this exciting young racer!

BTK would like to acknowledge all of the people involved in this successful series: Bill and Carla Wright and all of their tireless workers for putting on such a great event. In addition, we are proud to be associated with all of the Arrow Racers who along with their families traveled to and participated in this great series. BTK would also like to thank Kevin Loster for his help with carburetor tuning during the FWT.

Moreover, BTK was very excited to have Adam Klunyk from the Arrow Factory in Melbourne, Australia at the race. Adam plays a vital role in the Arrow Factory Race Team in Australia. “We are very grateful that Adam could visit with us in the U.S. and share his kart knowledge with the racers at the event,” said Terrence McCall, BTK Owner.

In the Cadet Jr. Sportsman, Arrow Racer, Jacob Donald (Beasley Motorsports) finished in 5th.

The Yamaha Sr. Sportsman Lite Race on Saturday was definitely an eye-catcher. The race started off slow with the field spread out. However, with four laps to go, the race was red flagged. After the restart, many lead changes would transpire, and in a photo finish, Mark Dismore, Jr. (Arrow/Comet Kart Sales) would take the 3rd podium position. Christopher Birch (Arrow/Comet Kart Sales) finished in the 8th position. In the TaG race, Mark Dismore Jr. would round out the top ten. What’s more, Steve Rumsey (Arrow/Slattery Karting) was able to conqueror the pole position in the Yamaha Masters class and would go on to claim the 3rd podium position.

On Sunday, Arrow Junior Racers would have another strong day. In the HPV Jr. Heavy Final, Zack Busch was able to secure the pole position and ultimately went on to catch the win! What's more, after being involved in a multi-kart accident in the Pre-final, Cody Robinson would make his way back to round out the top ten in the Final. In the Yamaha Jr Supercan Lite Class, Arrow claimed two podium positions—Dakota Pesek in 2nd and Zack Busch in 3rd. Additionally, Cody Robinson picked up the 4th position while Kyle Smith (Arrow/Beasley Motorsports) finished in 8th. In the HPV Jr. Sportsman, Jacob Donald (Arrow/Beasley Motorsports) and Collin Griffin (Arrow) would finish in 8th and 9th, respectively. Jacob Donald would also have another solid performance, finishing 8th in the Cadet Jr. Sportsman.

Concluding the weekend, in the TaG Race, Mark Dismore Jr. had a sharp finish, achieving the 3rd podium position! In addition, Arrow Racer, CJ Lintner (Comet Kart Sales) took the 7th position in TaG. By the same token, in the Yamaha Sr. Sportsman Heavy Class, C.J. Lintner earned the 5th position.

Decatur, Ala. – (February 12, 2008) – The Micro Max class had a new contender at Moroso for the 2nd Round of the FWT Rotax Challenge. Patricio O’Ward, an eight-year old from Monterrey, Mexico would be competing in his first FWT event with the help of his tuner, Noel Jesus Leon from Arrow’s Mexico Dealer. This is also Patricio’s first experience at Moroso.

Saturday’s results were unbelievable – a racer’s fantasy. Patricio, called Pato for short, dominated all events. From the picking up the pole position, claiming the pre-final as well as capturing the final win, it was indisputable that Pato dictated the Micro Max class in his Arrow Cadet. What’s more, Pato picked up the fast lap in both the pre-final and the final!

The phenomenon heated up on Sunday! The Micro Max class events mirrored Saturday’s results. The Arrow Cadet racer, once again, controlled the class on Day Two!
