TEAM ARROW USA / BTK MOTORSPORTS - X1 REPORT

Decatur, Alabama – (June 18, 2009) – The X1 continues to bring positive results to the table during the 2009 race season. Over the past weekend, the X1 helped sweep some big club wins from coast to coast.

In Barnesville, Georgia, the Georgia Sprint Karting Association (GSKA, www.georgiasprintkarting.net) hosted the Bakers Creek Kart Club (www.bakerscreekkarting.org) for race seven in the Southeastern R-Max Super Series. It was also the Season Finale for the Spring Fever Series for the 4-Cycle Clone diggers. With over 117 combined registered racers as well as racing under the lights on the quarter-mile track, the night race was definitely entertaining.

In Rotax Senior, it was Eric Jones (BTK Motorsports) who dominated the evening. Piloting the new Arrow X1 chassis, Jones qualified on pole and won both the heat race and the final. Jones also set a new track record breaking the previous record by over a half second – 22.161. Arrow X1 pilots, Matt Tilden and Austin Tillery qualified just behind Jones making it 1-2-3 for Arrow. In the heat race, Tilden finished second and A. Tillery in fourth. The feature race would bring unfortunate luck for A. Tillery. In the final lap, Austin was in fourth and closing the gap with Tilden when he had a clutch misfortune in the last turn. Tilden held on to win the P3. In Rotax Masters aboard the Arrow X1 chassis, Mack McCormack (BTK Motorsports) won P2 in both the heat race and the feature.

Also over the weekend, the Los Angeles Kart Club (LAKC) held its race at CalSpeed in Fontana, California. On the three-quarter mile Grande Course, Erik Jackson dominated Rotax Senior aboard his Arrow X1 chassis. Erik qualified on pole and won P1 in both the heat race and the final. In Rotax Masters, Arrow X1 pilot David Busby qualified outside pole and won the heat race. In the final, Busby was pushed to the rear of the field, yet he worked his way back to finish sixth. Furthermore, Arrow X1 pilot Ron Rossetti finished fourth in both the heat and the final in Rotax Masters.
